Pump Control Mods, Persley WWTW

Portfolio Description

We completed detailed electrical engineering design for the modification of existing pump starter panels to control new jet mixers within existing storm tanks at the Persley Waste Water Treatment Works in Aberdeen.

  • the new Flygt Jet Mixers were to have lower running currents and the new overload relay settings had to be confirmed
  • a set of Flygt MiniCAS II supervision relays were integrated within each starter panel
  • an auto-reset function was incorporated within a combined thermal overload relay and motor contactor unit
  • As-Built drawings were provided for inclusion in the site O&M Manual

The project was delivered successfully with the new jet mixer controls ensuring optimum mixing is available in the storm tanks and remove the need for costly and disruptive manual sedimentation removal.
