EPS Grid Connection Study

Portfolio Description

We provided survey services and technical advice considering the use of low-voltage generators running on biodiesel with surplus electricity exported to the grid.

Our report summarised the engineering considerations and budget cost estimates attached to such a project.  The engineering considerations included a summary of the accommodation requirements for a diesel generator set, fuel tank, switchgear, and new transformer.

Advice on Statutory Approvals such as DNO Contracts, G59/2 applications and Building Warrant was also provided.

We calculated an indication of the achievable ROCs income, electricity export price per kW and total per typical year for the electricity exported to the grid.  This information helped our Client appreciate the initial capital outlay and potential annual income for the project and we recommended an extent of further work necessary to underline the feasibility of this project.
